We are excited to announce that the Congar Institute received a grant from the Raskob Foundation!

The Raskob Foundation was founded by John J. and Helena S. Raskob, a Catholic family who believed they had been abundantly blessed by God. In turn, they decided that the best way to give thanks was through acts of service and by giving financial aid to those less fortunate. They focus on helping the Roman Catholic Church and Catholic organizations around the world.

Thanks to their generosity, we have received $35,000 to fund the project “Outreach for the Formation of Catholic Lay Leaders.” The mission of this project is to build the capacity of rural, under-resourced churches in the U.S. to develop excellent lay leadership based on the U.S. Bishops’ guidelines. It will equip lay leaders for evangelizing and outreach to provide competent Catholic pastoral presence among the poor and isolated.

Here at the Congar Institute, we aim to help develop lay people in the Catholic Church who are called to pastoral leadership. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with the Raskob Foundation to achieve this mission.
