The Congar Institute was actively involved in the National Congress “Raíces y Alas 2014.” This was a national conference organized by the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry, in partnership with the Federación de Insitutos Pastorales, the National Catholic Network de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana-La Red, the National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors of Hispanic Ministry and with the support the Bishops’ Subcommittee on Hispanic Affairs-USCCB.
Raíces y Alas 2014 was held from October 30 thru November 2, 2014 at San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. The event presented an opportunity for Catholic organizations, associations, and individuals to discuss the Catholic Hispanic Community around the nation. This year, the theme for the conference was the Evangelization, Community and Mission of Hispanics/Latinos.
Lizett Farias represented the Congar Institute as co-facilitator for one of the breakout sessions of the conference with the topic “Leadership Development.” Lizett and our friend and partner Maria-Cruz Gray, Diocesan Director for Hispanic Ministry in the Diocese of Salt Lake City led about 50 participants through the theory and praxis of leadership development. What a great honor to be able to facilitate the conversation on this important topic for Hispanic Ministry!
