Hope in the Time of Corona

“Martha, Martha…” 

A phrase many of us have heard and reflected on. Are you a listener or a doer? Jesus loves both! It is important to remember that listening and doing go hand in hand.

What is Jesus saying to Martha? He gently reminds her that she is losing sight of what is important.  We are reminded of the importance of a balance.  There are many distractions in our world; perhaps our reflection needs to go to asking for guidance to choose wisely. 

As with a gracious host, what is important is not just what we say or do, rather how we love Him. Rest in His presence; He is waiting for us to join Him.  We prepare for our time with Jesus with prayer to open our heart and mind to hear Him as we listen.

Let us both prepare to welcome Jesus and pray for the gift of an open heart as we live our call to be hope for the world, allowing the seeds of hope God has sown in us to flourish.

Gracious God, help us to slow down and breathe, to rest in your presence.  Thank you for your unconditional love and patience.
