I have had the beautiful opportunity to serve in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Thanks to Congar Institute, I preached a retreat for the Hispanic laity of the State of Utah. The enthusiasm of the laypeople was noticeable at first glance. Many came a long way to participate in the retreat. The atmosphere was one of joy for the encounter.
During the retreat, we reflected on Synodality as a way of being Church on the way, following Jesus on his journey to Jerusalem, and, finally, the food necessary for the journey. In other words, the retreat revolved around Lent, Synodality, and the Eucharist.
I also had the opportunity to meet the diocesan Bishop Oscar Solis, María Cruz and her team of collaborators, and some clergy members. In short, it is a very good experience of service and ecclesial communion.
